Seller Description

I’m listing my 1999 DINAN M Roadster for sale. It has Imola Red paint, red and black interior, black convertible top and Imola Red hardtop. 67K miles, very rare DINAN parts, and is thoroughly sorted. Asking $20,900 in SoCal.

This is a rare opportunity to own a DINAN modified M Roadster that has recently had a thorough mechanical refresh.  I’ve invested thousands into the car and used it as my daily driver and weekend fun car. I’ve already invested the time and money refresh the car, so this is a great value for someone who is interested in a reliable period correct car that is becoming collectible and rising in value. A similar car with stock wheels and 36k miles sold for $29K miles.

Clean Carfax and title, registered in California. Originally a New Mexico car, serviced at Sandia BMW in Albuquerque. All of the common M Roadster issues have been addressed, including transmission and differential seals, hoses, filters, bushings, mounts, suspension parts, the airbag light, seat bushings, rear sway bar link tabs and even professionally reinforcing the subframe. In addition to what was invested in refreshing the car, it comes with over $6,000 in DINAN components, the factory hardtop,  all of the original accessories and the stock BMW Business CD radio.

Brief history:
This 99 Imola Red M Roadster is one of 32 in this color combo (Red exterior, red and black interior, black top). It had been in the same family in Albuquerque, New Mexico since being purchased new. I’m the second owner and purchased the car in December of 2013. It received a thorough PPI from Sandia BMW in Albuquerque before being driven home to Southern California. Shortly after purchase, the car went through a multi-week tear down and build-up, at which time it was painstakingly gone through, as detailed in the list below. The end result is a very quick and rewarding car to drive that feels like new and performs beyond your expectations.

The car currently shares the stable with a 99 M Coupe and another German from Stuttgart, and so she will be replaced with a four door. The car is extremely reliable, very quick and very well sorted. It needs nothing and should be free of needing any major service for the foreseeable future.

Detailed records and receipts are available upon request. The car has been meticulously serviced with all preventative maintenance work performed at no expense spared.  The engine runs very strong, the throttle response is crisp and the handling is very tight, as you’d expect for a car with so much service performed recently, and the brakes are excessively powerful and inspire confidence. The interior is very clean and has been well maintained. The exterior is 7 out of 10, with some visible rocks chips on the front bumper and rear lower quarter panels (common areas). The cloth top and plastic rear window are in great condition with no rips, tears or major signs of wear.

The highlight of this roadster for me is the rare Fikse FM-5 wheels. The hardtop, subframe reinforcement and tons of Dinan parts don't hurt either. I think the price is very fair for a clean, well-sorted roadster.
