I have decided it is time to let my dream car go, i have owned this car for over 10 years, and loved every second of it. This is a 2001 bmw M roadster in pearl white. This is the the facelift version with the straight six engine from the M3. Less than two thousand of these cars were brought to the US, and far fewer came in this unique glossy white color. It currently has just over 94k original miles, and has always been garage kept. The paint is in great condition, with a few light rock chips in the front, and some light scraping on the fender from an incident where it was backed into in the garage, can probably be buffed out. Tires are like new and have excellent tread. Steering is tight and crisp and suspension is well tuned and the car handles beautifully!
Upgrades:
When i purchased this car, it had already gone through the Dinan stage 2 setup. This includes the dinan stage 2 tune, Dinan performance exhaust, dinan stabilizer bar and dinan cold air intake. It also has a performance flywheel. These upgrades turned an already extremely aggressive car into an absolute monster. Gobs of power in every gear at any rpm. This car is incredibly fast and a real head turner thanks to the custom Alpina badges that have replaced the generic BMW logos. I get compliments and questions anytime i take it out of the garage! The car has also had the pesky subframe problem that plagued these cars repaired already, so you can rest assured that the rear end can handle anything you can throw at it!
Needs:
The car does need some love to get back to perfect form. The convertible top back window needs to be replaced, there is some wear and tearing on the leather in the passenger seat. The clutch, while still driveable , needs to be replaced. The ac does not currently work, could just need to be recharged or something else. When i do drive it i always have the top down so it doesn't bother me.
These cars as i have stated are exceedingly rare, add to that the upgrades that have been done professionally by BMW approved specialty company (Dinan) and these cars consistently go for more than 18k. I am selling mine for $13,000 obo as is due to the work it needs as i have listed above. I will also consider PARTIAL trades + cash for a bmw convertible in decent condition with a 5 speed gearbox.
