2000 BMW Z3 M Roadster
66,717 original miles
Titanium Silver with black leather interior
E36 M3 drivetrain (S52 motor and 5 speed transmission with LSD)
Salvage Montana title due to suspension damage in 2005 - no collisions, all original body panels except for one sail panel from tire getting into the fender replaced by a donor OEM panel during the repair.
All VIN stickers intact
Adult owned by classic BMW enthusiast. Never tracked or abused
Subframe and trunk floor (common failure point on hard-driven Z3M) look perfect and show no signs of issues
Comes with an OEM set of wheels and also have a set of Z4M 18" wheels for sale separately or together as a package
Newer top installed by previous owner - no leaks or damage besides creases to plastic rear window
A/C and heat work perfectly
Montana plated (if you know, you know) but was previously registered in CA and will smog for new owner if desired. All stock and will pass with flying colors.
Only selling because I had surgery and can no longer easily get in and out without a lot of pain. Was going to save it for my 14 year old daughter (who desperately wants it as her first car) but we've decided she needs something safer for her first vehicle.
Never driven in the rain during my ownership and clearly a fair weather car underneath. No rust or any signs of corrosion whatsoever.
Only mods:
ZHP shift knob to add weight and reduce height of shifter assembly
BC Racing 8k/6k coilovers to reduce wheel gap and improve handling
Added spacers to bring wheels flush with fenders after lowering
Clear wind blocker to reduce buffeting with top down on freeway
New old-stock M Roadster OEM floor mats
Installed continental stereo and bypassed the stock amp to add bluetooth functionality
Fixed glove box droop with stiffener
Issues:
Volt meter is sporadic. I bought a new one and will include it in the sale but the needle is bright orange and I couldn't bring myself to install it next to two original gauges
Driver's seat belt strap retainer is broken - this is very common and I have the replacement part but to do it correctly the leather must be removed from the seat
Driver's side has multiple door dings - see pics. I don't know what in the heck happened but clearly someone enjoyed opening their door into the roadster. I imagine it could be cleaned up with PDR but never bothered me enough to do so.
Overall the paint shines and is very glossy, but it has a lot of scratches and scuffs. This is a survivor and I had little interest in restoring it to as-new
Front bumper has the inevitable scrapes and scratches on the underside
SRS light (airbag) is on for the passenger seat. This is a very common issue also. I have a code reader that will come with the car. You can reset it but it will come right back after a couple of key cycles.
Original headlights are clouding and in need of a polish
If you're looking for a pristine Bring A Trailer example, this isn't it. It is a well maintained, adult owned driver's car that will put a huge smile on your face and looks pretty amazing from 10 feet away. Bring your mechanic, or happy to take the car to the shop of your choice for a PPI at your expense. BMW of Murrieta is 20 minutes from my house.
Speaking of Bring A Trailer, a quick search of 2000 listings will show you that these cars are appreciating in price: https://bringatrailer.com/bmw/m-roadster/?yearFrom=2000&yearTo=2000
I'm asking $12,000 FIRM to make it easy for both of us. I don't need to sell this car so don't bother to lowball; if my price doesn't work for you, no hard feelings. :) I may consider trades for anything of interest up or down and have cash to throw on top if you have something I really want. Feel free to ask, worst I can say is no.
I have dozens of pics and happy to take more of anything you'd like to see. I work from home most days and you're welcome to come drive it any time.
If you made it to the bottom of this post, thanks for your interest!
